Sunday excursion on the Kateřinský brook

On Sunday 15 September 2024 I had the honour to make another excursion to the "Private nature reserve of Prof. Ondrej Hes on the Kateřinský brook" with a team of people from the Bioptic Laboratory Pilsen.

The initiator of the event and an active member of the Supervisory Board of the NF Eden, Mrs. Zdeňka Dušková, together with her colleagues Jiří Dušek and Josef Srp, visited my favourite route and saw the most valuable and interesting parts of the reserve. Our first stop was, of course, at the monument (stone) of Ondrej Hes, where Ondra spoke to us via a scanned QR code from his mobile phone screen and a video spot dedicated to the establishment of the Eden Foundation and the acquisition of the first plots of land of this site. We then moved on to our pond, which Ondra had always wanted and bought when he was still alive, and from there to the heart of the reserve, the land newly purchased by the Eden Foundation last year, and the pools of a nameless forest tributary to the Katherine Brook on its left bank. At the end we had a bird's eye view of the wetland, remembered Ondřej Hes and appreciated the approach and strategy of the Chairman of the Eden NF, Professor Michal Michal, who is the most important person of the whole project and the guardian of Ondřej Hes' legacy.
