In 2007, the last natural pool at the confluence of the rivers Úslava and Berounka in the locality of St. George was filled in.

Location St. George, Pilsen Doubravka

At that time, the environmental association DESOP started negotiations with the municipality of Pilsen and in 2007-2008 replacement ponds were dredged in the vicinity. The costs were borne by DESOP and a private investor (Ondřej Hes). Since then, we have produced a number of wetland habitats in the Pilsen region in the same scenario (at that time already under the wings of Ondřej Hes and with substantial assistance from DESOP).

Some projects have been more successful, others less so. It should be noted here that each pond has its own rhythm, some of them are naturally grounded and it is a question of whether or not the pond should be restored in a given location. It is clear from the above lines and photographs that our foundation is not a momentary blip or a reaction to the government's promotion of water retention in the landscape. The trend of drying up of the landscape was picked up by ecologists, farmers and just a few observant nature visitors many years ago and our efforts are just the logical outcome of many years of efforts and activities of our group. Without further comment, we present some of our wetlands over time.
